The very first thing you should do when deciding on an SEO marketing campaign for the company web site is to log in to your domain provider account and extend your active domain names to their maximum terms possible. It’s a change that Google will detect easily and the brownie points will be automatic, it’s programmed into the algorithm that this makes a website more reputable one, not a page constructed suddenly for a fly-by-night scheme of some sort. (How many have there been since the dawn of the Internet?) The best way to show Google you have an important, straight-up business is to spend a few dollars on your branding. If you reserve the domain name for ten years, it gives the search engines confidence that the business is for real.

The second thing you should do is find a consultant who can write in the SEO style; this means being able to roll through the keywords in a maximum number of combinations on a regular basis during the articles.

They can form the anchor text around which to construct links back to the landing pages. The SEO will want to find as many URLs with text content on them as possible to use as landing pages, including at least one .tel site, YouTube ads, FaceBook, and Twitter: the combined weight of deep linking will aid the overall strength in the rankings.

The nature of the template that works to make a .tel site is something that requires some explanation as it is a recent development: the .tel domain can’t be applied to any website, it runs on a template that works with a special Google algorithm. That being said, it’s a marvelous algorithm and so it should be used to full advantage for your SEO program – all it takes is the knowledge that it exists and the enthusiasm to promote it.

The knowledge is this: the .tel websites can hold content and keywords, after that the URLs optimize much like a regular website.

<ins><ins id="aswift_2_anchor"></ins></ins>

They start competing in the rankings within weeks on both smart phones and computers (mobile or desktop), usually on some pretty major keywords. They keep climbing, and they can be made larger with sub-domains. Moreover, after observing ten campaigns it became clear that the .tel sites were exerting a positive influence on the rankings of the pages of the main sites that they represented.

It is apparent that many businesses are going to be in the dark about the .tel suffix so it’s a great treat for more ambitious types who like to try out a new idea. Since society and the business world can be condensed into smaller media, people can live through their cell phones. It won’t be long before everybody does the majority of their Web surfing from a phone, so .tel websites will be very handy. Usually a good idea can be flooded with participants, but for now the little screen on the cell phone has room for one more domain name to be promoted to the top.

There’s a special type of Canadian web hosting services and not only called email
hosting. This type of a hosting account does not include any websites, pages or
other usual stuff, being just a POP/SMTP account for using it for email service.

When ordering email hosting service you usually pay once a year registering a domain
and connecting it with the only (or several) POP3/SMTP accounts, allowing you to
sent and receive emails using email clients , such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird,
The Bat or any other software, as well as the web interface (webmail).

You may ask what this hosting type is needed for. Why should I pay money for when
there are many free mailing service available online?

There are several reasons making this hosting full of sense and increasing the
business reasonability.

For example, you have business, which is not connected tithe internet and don’t need
site, but the global tendencies require digitalization and you use emailing for
making connection with your clients, sending and receiving documents, and just
exchanging the information. Why should you pay for hosting with email account every
month, when there are opportunities of making your own domain and tie an email
account to it?
Free mailing services are well known, and are available for everybody, but
unfortunately far not everyone wants tp work honest and try to deceive and scam
other people, using free mailing services. This decreases the customer trust to the
firms which have no personalized email address and use public. People may think the
firm is unstable, so personalized email hosting works at the psychology and keeps
the money saved.

Another case is when you are going to make a marketing campaign using email, to
attract more customers, but often the letter s you send, especially from the free
email servers, is automatically moved to trash bin of email, or is not read by the
customer recognized as the spam. Unlike the free mailing services, personalized
email hosting allows you to avoid being put into trash, thus increasing the amount
of potential customers who have got your message.

One more reason to use personalized email hosting is the pre-site olinó activity,
when you are not ready for putting the business online, but already want to use
domain name and connect to the clients. Registering domain and using the email
hosting allows you to achieve the needed quality and effect of partnership
interaction.

Sibername offers several types of email hosting accounts. We care of reasonability
for your business, and understand this type of hosting is not often offered by the
usual hosting providers, so being kind of unique, we are ready for your request!

Hosting account types and their usage.

Now we are to share some knowledge about hosting accounts currently presented by
Sibername.com and other site hosting providers.

There are three basic types divided by the resource quantity and access depth. The
first, basic account is shared hosting. Shared hosting is in fact the single folder
(or several folders) on the HDD where all the resources of the physical server are
shared between hundreds and thousands of users having similar folders at the single
HDD, connected to a single CPU and share the certain amount of RAM. This means no
shared hosting is able to stand heavy projects, even if the web space is claimed to
be unlimited. As soon as your site grows up, becomes heavier and starts requiring
stable amount of resources every day and every hour, the physical equipment
resources become unsustainable and your account would most likely be suspended.

Before a suspension occurs, it is much more reasonable to upgrade your account to
the next phase, which is usually a Virtual Private server (VPS). Sibername provides
quality Canadian VPSs.

Remind you a bit about what has already been published at our blog that a VPS is the
whole disc partition, with certain amount of RAM and CPU guaranteed.
It means you can have a separate account at the single server where no one is able
to steal your resources as well as you can’t overcome the given possibility.

VPS accounts usually cannot be suspended for the resource overuse, but still when a
site has grown too much it may require further account upgrade.

The next step of going up by the resource usage is a dedicated server. This is the
full-featured piece of equipment where all the resources are dedicated to a single
user. The whole computing unit which can be used for any needs according to the
provider’s TOS. Here no resources are shared, unless the server is used for further
reselling, and the online projects feel great with no pressure from aside. All
servers are provided with root and ssh access, allowing to perform any
configuration.

Sometimes people do not want to rent a server from a host, but can use a datacenter
for placing their own equipment and this service is called co-location, with or
without the maintenance and technical support included.

Obviously the higher the account resources are, the higher the price is. Within a
single account type, the price varies depending on the features of a certain
account, such as domain names, applications, additional services and bonuses
provided by a certain site host.

If to talk about Sibername’s service, our company provides free domain names in
each shared hosting account and provides basic server configuration where the
control panels and some features, such as remote reboot and others may be ordered
for additional fees.

Canadian dedicated servers and any other may also include such service with one time
payment as a set up. As soon as the server is ordered, it has to be prepared for
further work: reformat, software install, connection to the network and switching it
on requires efforts which have to be paid.

This account type as well as a VPS can be divide into managed where everything is
installed, and supported by technicians, and unmanaged, where a client receives the
blanc formatted piece of equipment. The management level influences the price
dramatically. The managed server is about two times more expensive than the same
configuration of the unmanaged account.

There are also some accounts which are used for a narrow purpose – such as
shoutcasting (internet radio) podcasting, email hosting, video sites, and even
certain type fo content specialization. Such accounts may have an increased
performance for certain types of the sites they are designed for. This means the
internet radio broadcasting site placed at the usual shared account will have lower
(relatively) performance than the same site at the showcasing account where the
needless features of server software are off, and RAM is better served for the main
site purpose. The same is for the accounts designed for the video streaming and
other specific purposes.

It is not very simple task to find the hosting provider which would be a universal
source of a solution, where everything would be possible with a highest performance.
However Sibername is always aimed to provide namely the top quality services for any
types of sites, that is why our clients are of the widest specter of webmasters.

There are hosts having specialization for certain contents (mostly adult) their
servers are optimized for such purposes.

We may also printout the possibility of any server manual optimization, but this
should be performed by the professionally trained people, while the beginners should
use fully-managed solutions.

Presentday Canadian hosting world is able to provide anybody with any class and
type of hosting services, having constantly extending lists of tools and software so
when the hosting is needed, it is really reasonable to perform really deep research
for the offered accounts, tools and management level provided at the certain host’s
servers.

Let the luck and professionalism be with you at this way!

As the most know, there are two major hosting operating system platforms: the open
Source Linux and the paid Windows OS. Sibername.com offers both Canadian windows and
Linux hosting for everyone around the world.

These platforms differ by the programming technologies which are used for building
servers and its configuration and also by the supported site building technologies.

Linux, including all its modifications and variations (ubuntu, centOS, Gentoo)
supports the most types of web programming, processed CMS, and languages which are
compiled into some site features. But it has no support of Microsoft technologies,
such as ASP.NET, used for site creation and web programming and which make windows
servers kinda unique.

Windows also supports almost all the used technologies used in web design and site
making, but if to compare the sustainability, and the performance, many webmasters
report about too complicated things about windows decreasing its stability.

Using we site hosting, the server technology is very important, because the site
performance depends also on the stability of the used software and Linux wins the
competition, if to believe various online reviews and the statistic of the use.

Actually, it may happen, that windows hosting is only used for the sites build
within the ASP.NET framework which are impossible to be hosted at Linux servers.
Otherwise, it just no points using more expensive but sometimes less sustainable
technology.

Price of web site hosting, in Canada, or elsewhere depends really much on the
technologies, which are used at the served accounts. Thus, windows hosting is
usually more expensive, at the same specification and config as Linux account at the
same hosting provider.

Sibername has both platforms offered, and they are served according to these ‘rules’
of the price. The clients get supported account of the type they desire, but windows
service is tad more expensive.

Also windows hosting, especially if it is a root-hosting service, like Dedicated
servers or VPS, requires special training to manage all the server tools and
functions, which differ from Linux due to special quality of technology.

Net framework is not supported by anything, because the commercial solutions are
protected by the law and should preserve unique status in order to be able to make
money, OS solutions do not need, so that is why they are more prospective for the
majority of beginners and professionals, except for the cases when the site must be
built on the MS-owned technology.

We cannot recommend you any of the OS platforms for your hosting, as they both are
enough quality to be used, we just tell you about the features of each, to enable
you to make a proper choice, as you may see, Sibername is able to serve you whatever
you choose.

Being an ICANN accredited domain registrar and having a business of registration as a basic turnover source, SiberName is about to give a few advice about dealing with domain extensions.

The most popular domain extension, or Top Level Domain (TLD) is .com. Originally it was designed for the commercial websites, but now when there is no so strict regulations for the TLD use, it has become universal and most demanded.

The number of active .COM domain names is 96,696,392 (information taken from http://www.domaintools.com/internet-statistics/).

As soon as a person gets the site or idea of a certain domain name they try to register a .com domain for it, because it is not only of psychologically worth when people are to trust sites with .com more than say with other generic domain extension .info, subconsciously taking it as the less reliable, but SEO terms are also more loyal to .com.

The second popular generic TLD is .net. It origins from the word ‘network’ and was designed for all the network-related sites, but now it is also used much wider. When people register a domain and realize the desired .com is already taken and parked or used by other website, they might either buy it from the registrant for the price much higher than a registration fee, or try to get .net instead. However the .net is just a little less popular, thus it might also be taken long ago.

The number of active .NET domain names is 14,092,496 (information taken from http://www.domaintools.com/internet-statistics/).

.org continues the row of the most popular top level domains. It has been taken from the word “organization” but as you might already guess, this function tie is not topical any more.

The number of active ORG domain names is 9,364,901 (information taken from http://www.domaintools.com/internet-statistics/).

We also have .info domains. These are the way for those who cannot find any other domain names at .com, .net or .org, but still want to have a generic domain extension for their site.

The number of active .INFO domain names is 7,965,965 (information taken from http://www.domaintools.com/internet-statistics/).

Surely the popularity of extensions is important, but practically it is often more preferred to have a sound domain more than the popular-extended one, as it might become efficient from psychological marketing point of view. The easy-to-read and -to-remember .info domain name is worth much more than tongue-twisting .com of the same site, so you’d better think of users as you come to the domain registrar for getting a domain name.

There is also another domain category – country code top level domains (ccTLD), such as .ca, .us, .eu, .ru, .me and many others. The domains of this type might also be really attractive in terms of marketing the site, service or product in the Internet. For example, .me (Montenegro) extension has probably a set of registration records per the sunrise period, as .me is excellently combining with such names, as for example, find.me, kiss.me and whatabout.me… and all the worthy names have been registered in a bulk by the happy speculators, which have made thousands of dollars per each lucky name.

Some ccTLDs like, for example the Canadian domain extension .ca, or European .eu have certain limitations for the registrants, which have to be country residents. Shall remind you SiberName, being a Canadian domain registrar is offering the accredited registration of both named ccTLDs. Their use is usually good for regional geo located services, or producers, which are working for the certain market, or they come in a row with all other extensions for a certain name to be accessible from any place of the world. For a good example, we name Google, having registered all the imaginable extensions for their name.

The reason for getting multiple extensions for the single name are mostly the protection of a firm and its name, as well as products, or the prevention of so called cybersquatting, when people are working to find the unregistered extensions for a certain name, take it and then, as soon as the company tries to get the name and extension, these people are to be paid as much as possible for a certain case. So if you are going to have international audience or are going to establish a serious world-famous company or just wanna protect a Trademark – register the name for as much extensions as you find reasonable, but at least .com, .net and .org are the must.

There are numerous tools for a domain research, offered by Sibername as well as other specialized sites, such as domaintools.com,, where you and everyone can get to know the information about a certain domain and unless it is protected, the registrant and even get the domain suggestions for the keywords you’d like to use at your domain name. The tool also shows if a certain name taken for popular extensions, and gives multiple options of free domain names that makes the tool very useful.

So, the thing of the domain extension is to be the logical continuation of the name and sometimes even shows people the seriousness of your site or organization, so it must be the very important for every webmaster to choose domain names with appropriate extensions and Sibername, as the professional and trusted domain registrar is able to provide you with the quality registration service as well with the help along the road.

When you are going to become present online with your business, thoughts expressed
in a text or video, or just starting a business online itself you think of starting
a web site.

The first thing to do for coming out online is to register a domain name for the
website, relevant to the site niche and content. As we have already said, it is much
more reasonable to use accredited domain registrars in order to avoid possible
troubles with ownership, renewals and transferring.

As you have completed the registration the next thing is the website itself and
today we’d like to describe the possibility of combining this step with the next one
- choosing a web hosting provider.

Many web site hosting providers, including Sibername, offer special tools for site
building. They are especially useful when there is not enough specific knowledge in
html, css and php. The one of the most usable and convenient tools are websitematic
technology & rvSiteBuilder, which allows creating the site’s layout from various
elements with possibility of manual correction and fixing of certain moments of
website.

Websitematic technology allows also to apply the similar principle to the dynamic
Content Management Systems, such as Joomla, being very popular for portals, blogs
and other type of multi-content websites.

Choosing to use these tools, you receive a possibility of fast and efficient site
creating and administration with further possibility of exporting and transferring
it.

Sure, if you are experienced webmaster, with deep knowledge of web programming and
content management principles and tools, you hardly need any builders and automatic
means of construction, but when you are just a beginner, the site builders are the
best and the fastest way of bringing your ideas online.

The one of the most important thing is choosing the proper CMS you will be able to
operate and tune according to the site, and overall business purposes, taking into
attention the hosting parameters and site statistics, which include daily traffic,
amount of resources needed for the certain CMS, and its ability to serve the needs
of yourself and your visitors/potential clients.

If we take off the necessity of host monitoring, underlying the fact of hosting
provider’s reliability, the Content management stands forefront all other aspects of
online activity. That is why it requires special attention.

Proper CMS will make the online work efficient and easy to operate, with all aspects
of site optimization and promotion of your services online, and the site building
tools that are particularly suggested by sibername, as the feature of web site
hosting plan, allow everyone with minimal skills to perform efficient work of online
projects.

Whether it is a blog, an eCommerce site, news or gaming portal or juts a personal
webpage – everything is available for websitematic construction. We shall not talk
about certain site layouts, as you hopefully, know better how should your site look
like and which elements are necessary or unnecessary for it, but just tell you, that
with no dependence on any lack of professional skills of you as a webmaster, tools
provided by hosts are able to become your easy way online.

A Canadian Virtual Private Server is a root-access hosting account type, which, as it were previously said, contains the HDD partition (sometimes further virtualization is enabled), certain amount of guaranteed and/or burstable RAM, CPU quote, and various numbers of software pieces used for hosting performance.

VPS, as well as Canadian dedicated servers can be divided into managed and unmanaged, which differ by the level of given features. Unmanaged VPS is just a blank HDD partition with basic tools. This web site hosting type is cheaper, but it requires high level admin skills. Managed hosting solutions are more newbie-friendly, as they include the management service from professionals and all tools users might need.

Main thing is Virtualization – the technology and visual tool for managing the account, from usual reboot up to further dividing into several parts. For example Virtuozzo Power Panel (or simply Virtuozzo), which is being used by SiberName, allows performing multiple operations from file and format managing to SSH connection and security area.

Virtuozzo (as well as the other panels) includes all the necessary indicators and monitors allowing user to see what is going on with his or her account at the moment, to manage the processes run and gathering statistics as well.

Except for virtualization control, there is always a possibility of installation (some have pre-installed) of hosting control panel, such as cPanel or Plesk, which normally requires additional costs. When the control panel is pre-installed, its cost is usually included into the plan price, so do not be des informed when comparing the deals.

Hosting control panel is more specific. Though some of functions may duplicate the ones in Virtualization Panel, they only work for certain domain and site, while the whole VPS hosting account, which may contain many sites (cPanel accounts) at once, is under virtualization control.

VPS is usually bought for online projects which are discomforted by shared hosting being too resource-eating or requiring multiple accounts management as if it were reseller business. Often purchased for forums, and other active communities, where are higher RAM and CPU resources.
Alongside root- and SSH access, these are the main advantages of VPS before shared hosting, unable to give even a half of performance.

The price of Canadian hosting providers may differ from the other countries where the VPS servers are located.

One more thing to know of a Canadian VPS, is about its virtuality, again. Being not a completely dedicated server, VPS has to share physical system resources (Except for hybrid servers, which are completely separate parts of certain server), and, long or short, it would have to be upgraded to full dedicated server. Certainly, this is true only if the site requirements are increasing following the project’s natural growth.

As you know, every site starts from a domain name. The domain name is build from two
or more levels, divided by the dot symbol. For example the domain sibername.com has
a Top level domain (TLD) – .com, and second level domain – sibername. TLDs are also
called domain zones or extensions, analogically to the filename extension and
originally displayed the type of the hosted site. For now there is no any connection
between the content and domain, except for the logical SEO purposes making people
choose Canadian domain names and not only with relevant keywords.

TLDs may be divided into two major parts: generic TLD (gTLD), like .com, .net, .org,
.pro, etc, or country code TLD (ccTLD) which mean the country relativity. Some of
ccTLD (such as .ca or .eu) require registrant to be a resident of certain country,
other do not have restrictions.

CCTLDs are usually more expansive and less popular than gTLD, especially .coms.

All domain are listed in a database of ICANN, The domain registration is perfomed by
registrars, such as sibername.com, which are accredited by ICANN. Standard
registration term of any domain name is a year and every year it has to be renewed
if the registrant likes to continue the site activity. It is also possible to
perform registration for two or more years, according to the plans and budget.

Canadian domain name (as any other) becomes the address of the site, as soon as its
name servers are being changed to tie it to the certain hosting.

According to wikipedia “The Domain Name System is maintained by a distributed
database system, which uses the client-server model. The nodes of this database are
the name servers. Each domain has at least one authoritative DNS server that
publishes information about that domain and the name servers of any domains
subordinate to it. The top of the hierarchy is served by the root nameservers, the
servers to query when looking up (resolving) a TLD.”

Once registered the Canadian domain name information is recorder in its whois
database profile, and is viewable by anyone (unless the privacy protection applied)
with the use of various domain tools.

Physically for hosting account, a site is a folder at HDD named after the domain,
which may include subfolders (domain.com/folder) and subdomains (sub.domain.com).

In terms of SEO it is reasonable to register the domain name with keywords relevant
to the site content in it. For example, the site is an online store of electronics
and most likely will have the domain name alike electronicstore.com. Though, most of
the short and easy-to-remember domain names with keywords are already taken and
either are used for the sites, or put up to auction for further reselling. Many
domains are sold for prices with six, or even seven digits, like a domain name
icloud.com has been recently purchased by apple for four mio USD, while the usual
registration of any domain name cost about ten bucks per year. Now you can imagine
the profits made on domain names reselling.

However, it is not an obligatory point for Canadian domain to be relevant. It may
contain any combination of numbers, letters and hyphens, as well as words and even
sentences and be the web address of any type of site, sometimes completely
illogical.

Special group of gTLDs is designed for governmental (.gov) and educational (.edu)
use and cannot be registered freely by anyone.

One more TLD to describe is .tk – free domain names. Though it might seem attractive
to use free domain name, the sites at such domains too often belong to scammers or
crime schemes and even if your site is about charity, .tk domain will spoil its
reputation before someone enters.

The most popular domain extensions are generic .coms, .nets and .orgs. .info .pro
and others are used less frequently. However many online and offline companies
register domains in all zones they find reasonable, in order to avoid misconnection
and provide tight addiction of visitors to the site, brand and trademark.

Most people having minimal experience in the webmastering or willing to start this
activity know there are several types of Canadian hosting accounts (and not only)
currently provided. We shall try to explain the difference and the principles of use
for each of the existent and used hosting types.

The first place to start the online history of any site is usually a shared hosting
account. Usually static html-based sites require very low space and bandwidth
resources for themselves, but they are increased with the enlarging and extending
the amount of visitors who attend it so the smallest shared account may not stand
it, and as a result you gets downtime for the site or inaccessibility because of
account suspension. Dynamic sites require more by default.

Physically the Canadian shared hosting is a single folder on a HDD where could be
many more other sites-folders used by other people. For example Canadian web site
hosting account includes 50 MB of web space – the max volume for a single folder at
80 GB of HDD (the lowest possible amount was taken). It is not so difficult to
calculate how many folders are able to be hosted upon the one server users share.

At the same time there is a fixed amount of RAM and CPU for a certain server what is
only changed when the upgrade is taking place. So, the more clients per a single
shared server has the host, the weaker is the chance of each to have enough
performance for being accessible.

AS soon as your site experiences such troubles or is cut by suspension, it is a time
of either changing a host to a more per formative or to upgrade an account to the
next stage. Usually the “next stage” is a Virtual Private Server (VPS).

Unlike the Canadian shared hosting or any other which is a single folder at a HDD,
VPS is a whole disc partition, made from other server than the one used by shared
hosting clients. Here you receive more performance by default, but still CPU and RAM
resources are shared. However at VPS plans there is usually a feature describing how
many RAM and CPU resources can the client use. AS a rule there is a “guaranteed RAM”
and “burstable RAM” which are relatively minimal and maximal amount of MBs per
account. For example the plan may include 20GB of HDD, 128 MB of guaranteed RAM and
256 MB of burstable, what means your site will be able to use from 128 to 256 MB for
the applications run by owner or by clients, creating certian limits. So, when the
estimated or real amount of resources needed is over the suggested plan amount, it
is obviously needed to get the one with better specs.

There is a relatively rare way of providing web site hosting service being in the
middle between the shared hosting and VPS. It is called semi-dedicated server. This
account type means the client gets a folder on a server (like it is at shared
hosting) but also is provided by dedicated RAM and CPU. Such accounts may be
required for sites too strong for shared hosting, but not enough strong for VPS,
like dynamic forums, or electronic stores.

The final stage of every hosting (excluding the cloud hosting) is dedicated server.
AS you might have already learned or guessed, Canadian dedicated server (that is
also about any other server location) is a whole computer machine owned or rented by
a single user, where he or she is able to host as many sites as they like and use as
many resources as they can (certainly within the provided amount per server), with
nothing, but a Datacenter space, shared with other clients. Thus dedis are usually
more stable, and have higher performance than any other type of hosting accounts.
But even here there could be low-end servers which require constant monitoring of
activity and cannot stand DDoS attacks at all. Server specs vary from 80 GB HDD, 512
MB or RAM and 1.5 Ghz CPU to really big amounts of these resources.

Servers are usually required for heavy online projects, which are unable to be
hosted at any type of shared resources. So, for answering the question “which
hosting account should I take?” everyone should analyze the needed amount of
resources, taking into account the traffic expected to come in and out, as some
providers offer these as a seperate numbers (e.g 1000GB/mo ingoing and 2000GB/mo
outgoing). When you are not sure if this is enough for you, the unmenetred dedicated
servers should be preferred.

One more account type we think is important to know about is a dedicated VPS, or
hybrid server, which is rather rare as well as any other intermediate account type.
This account is something in-between the VPS and dedicated servers. In fact this is
a VPS (HDD partition) with CPU and RAM Dedicated at certain amount. Used rarely,
usually when there is no enough funds for a full-fledged dedicated server but too
much resources for a VPS are required.

Dedicated servers and VPS can be divide into managed and unmanaged ones. Managed
include the professional software tools and support of managing the server,
administrating it and performing all the operations, such as reboot or tuning.
Unmanaged is just a blank machine which is in the full remote control of the user.
Obviously, the managed servers are significantly more expensive than unmanaged ones.
So, the low end managed dedicated server or VPS my cost equally to high end
unmanaged account or even extend its price, depending on provider’s policy.

Make the right account choice to have your sites up and running and never deal with
unprofessional providers.

Today, when the competiton at the web hosting market is really huge, the thousands
of hosts try to attract as many clients as possible in order to stay in business,
at least.

For this reason many Canadian, US and worldwide hosting providers are using various
tricks, sometimes not very honest and clear.

The one of the most used gimmick is an unlimited account. Hosts often offer
unlimited HDD, bandwidth, add-on domain names, etc, but in fact we all know nothing
is unlimited in our universe, and there is certainly no any unlimited HDD or a data
channel. Yes, the hosts can extend the used space eternally, and have no “bandwidth
per month” count, but they are unable to extend the shared CPU and Ram resources of
the server, thus there are still big limits for so-called unlimited accounts.

Web hosting providers of Canada, as well as many other hosting providers, often
oversell. They offer plans of unbelievably big resources at incredibly low price but
in fact many of them own or rent a sigle server and simply cannot provide all the
resources, nominally included int the plan. As a result you start experiencing a
connection, uptime and speed troubles right as soon as you reach the certain limit
of traffic and use. For example, host may offer 200GB of space and 1TB of bandwidth,
trying to host sites for which this limit is unreachable, but, again they hardly
have enough resources to provide good performance and often have limites for
uploaded files size.

The only type of web site hosting service which cannot be oversold is dedicated
server, used by the single client. Here you get a full information of given
resources and do not share it with anyone like it is practiced at shared hosting or
VPS accounts.

So, as you see low-cost but high-end resourceful account offered among the plans (or
it is the only plan certain host is offering) – you are most likely to meet the
heavily oversold service which should be avoided.

Some Canadian and US companies make very huge efforts and investments in marketing,
but remain weak in terms of service quality and performance. So the ephemere
popularity of certain hosting providers may also be a dangerous foggy rock for those
users who have no experience. The people see the name of host often, read many
reviews (many of which are written by the host’s affiliates) and start imaging a
stable big corporation instead of just a usual middle-sized or even a one-man-host,
which it is in reality. Plus, some hosts, even a big and “reputed” may be just a
products of great marketing labour, which has branded their names, blowed them up
to the incredible sizes, but the real base of equipment and technic is a small and
oversold.

This shows the things which are to be considered when you are dealing with a new
host. As we have previously said, price does not matter, alone. There should be a
balance between the cost, features and provided resources. So you realize even 10GB
of shared space at account with cPanel, FTP and Emails cannot cost less that
five-six dollar a month. More features – more money. Better balance is usually more
expensive than a worse one. So paying ten dollars a month for a shared account of
truly reliable Canadian hosting provider is usually the better option than getting
unlimited one for three bucks at some unknown server of unknown second-level
reseller.

Once again to remind you about the importance of TOS, because even the most
ridiculous oversellers cannot cheat people in their Terms Of service, so always read
it and be always confident about the deals.
